1954: Like a latter-day rock star, James Dean reluctantly poses for a publicity shot.  His barely concealed irritation at having to do such sessions was merely part of a greater resentment toward all that the studios stood for as powerful corporate entities.  James Dean was a furious cry against the cloying, smug hypocrisy of a consumer society in the fifties.  While we shall never know if he was capable of providing any answers, since he died so young, it was enough that he voiced and portrayed the frustrations and discontent brewing in the American youth of his time.
